Andrew Bynum steps up his play in Game 7
I am hopeful to participate by enjoying the San Francisco Bay Area and sailing more this year. There are lots of races that I see in the distance when I drive over the bridges and a lot of anticipation about the upcoming America’s Cup Regatta and trials. I’ve never been able to get one of those fancy pants fast boats and get involved in yacht racing, but I like the idea of poking around and going out in the Bay and just hanging out, catching a breeze, avoiding a freighter, stuff like that. Every time I think this is a good idea though, I go outside and it’s friggin’ freezing in the middle of summer. Not ideal, but it should keep me clothed so I don’t get sunburned.
My nautical mission of the day is to start a list of the active fleets for sailboat racing in the San Francisco Bay just as a curiosity and for general information. No statistics, but maybe some schedules will be posted here to alert people of races that their boat may qualify for.
In the old days there were names like Cal, Moore and Santana that were around for single hull type of racing. I’ll start identifying and photographing the various styles of boats I see while I poke around the bay.
There should be a new rule in Baseball and that is you get to keep hitting as long as you can hit Home Runs. Josh Hamilton may never have been stopped at the rate that he is going. Yesterday he hit 4 home runs in one game. Needless to say the Texas Rangers won the game. Details here:

On the road they just can’t be beat. The latest assault in St. Louis against the Blues has set the stage for a dominating series with the Kings having an obvious advantage now that they are on their way home to play in Los Angeles on Thursday.

I was listening to a Golden State Warriors game last night, one that was predicted that the Warriors would lose. I had just recently learned that if they won that game then the pick in the next NBA basketball draft would go to another team and this seems like a game you could count on them losing. I still haven’t checked to see if they lost the game, but it brought up some interesting points about the NBA draft and how it works. I’ll try and figure this scenario out after I go get the “Newspaper”and see the results of last night’s game.
Surprisingly, The Warriors Lost!!!! Now here are some of the details as outlined by the San Jose Mercury News:
But the good news for Warriors fans isn’t just that the season is over. Despite a career-high 25 points and eight rebounds for rookie forward Chris Wright, the Warriors lost and wound up tied with Toronto for the seventh-worst record in the NBA. If Golden State lands outside of the top seven in the draft lottery, its pick goes to the Utah Jazz based on a trade from 2008.
Friday, the league will hold a random drawing to break the tie. If the Warriors win the drawing, they’ll be slotted No. 7 and have a 72.5 percent chance of keeping their first-round pick — a 12.6 percent chance they move up, and a 59.9 percent chance they stay at No. 7. The only way the Warriors wouldn’t keep their pick is if a team below them moved into the top three.
As a novice I can’t say I really know what is going on here. I’ll leave it to the comments to explain more.
